„Restitution is not about returning the ‚object of study‘. It is about repairing the damage, the violence that colonialism, yesterday and today, has inflicted on the people, cultures and societies affected. It means to stop capitalizing on the indigenous heritage found in the exhibition halls of imperial palaces. The Humboldt forum in Berlin, is nothing more than a Prussian Imperial Palace rebuilt in detail by an oligarchy, a generation of ashy mentality that only yearns to recover the ‚good old days‘ of the colonial imperial past. Yesterday, September 16, the day before the Independence Day of many countries of Abya Yala, they finish inaugurating the crowning work of German shame. Which is just more than a provocation, a mockery to resistance and reconstruction of our memories to our sovereignty as free countries? of the White European hegemony. Yesterday’s ceremony was more than a theater, where ‚the others‘ the Auslander (foreigners) are more than objects of observation or / amusement and that is the quota of Inclusion. Yesterday we entered this ‚exclusive‘ event with no celebratory spirit! nothing! We didn’t need any translator, we understood everything, every word, every diplomacy. And there was everything they took away, what we could never access in our countries of origin, what we were forbidden to touch, to see, to dance, to dress. We are still processing that feeling. However, our goal was to arrive, to pay tribute, to accompany two ancestors imprisoned in a glass box. Two people who are denied eternal rest and used as objects of entertainment, as was done in human zoos about 100 years ago. With pain in our hearts we greet them accompanied by two pututus we shout: RESTITUTION! Only two Pututus were enough to shake the room and the ’select‘ audience of the HF, while we painted our faces as a sign of protection. Protection from such a colonial monster that Germany has revived yesterday.

This is a first call to all our sisters and brothers to unite our hearts and make one force. No more genocide, no more damage to our MEMORY, DIGNITY AND SOVEREIGNTY!“
